Some interesting features of Samsung Phone Camera

Samsung Galaxy devices are known for strong build quality, realistic feature-rich cameras and features. The good service of its camera app contributes a lot to the popularity of Samsung. If you are using Samsung Galaxy devices, you may not know about these features. Today 10/10/2023 in this article we will discuss in detail about several interesting features of Samsung phone camera app which will blow your mind. However, not all features in our article may be available on all Samsung Galaxy phones. Some features will be applicable for high end devices that have multiple cameras.

Changing the frame rate

The frame rate or frames per second (fps) determines how many frames are being captured per second. The higher the frame rate, the smoother the motion will appear. Movies are usually shot at 24 fps, while phone videos are usually shot at 30 fps. Samsung’s camera app has the facility to switch between different frame rates. Some frame rates are only available for certain resolutions.

Most Samsung Galaxy devices can shoot at 30 fps in HD, FHD and UHD, and 60 fps in FHD and UHD. However, some high end devices have the facility to shoot in 8K at 24 fps. By switching to video options and tapping on the frame rate icon, you can set the resolution and frame rate of your choice.

Recording time-lapse video

Time-lapse video is also sometimes called hypermaps. It converts continuous long videos into short videos. This feature works great for showing things that move very slowly, such as the movement of the sun across the sky, which is best understood with a time-lapse. Samsung Galaxy devices have a built-in Hypermaps feature attached to the camera app. It is very easy to use for any user and does not require any advanced photography technology knowledge. Just make sure you keep the phone as still as possible while recording the video.

Taking long exposure photos

Samsung Galaxy phones’ cameras are capable of taking long exposure photos. Long exposure photos create movement and passage in correct time. It is more like a still image of a time lapse video. A good long exposure photo requires a small amount of fine tuning. But you need to have a good idea of how long you need to keep the shutter open to capture a particular image. You can try it sometime if you want. Once you get the hang of it, you’ll be able to take great pictures from now on.

Switching to Pro Mode

Samsung’s default camera UI is very simple. You’ll find some options at the top and some shortcuts at the bottom. But if you want to have more control over your video and photo capture, you can switch to Pro mode. Pro mode gives you control over ISO, shutter speed, white balance, manual focus and more when taking photos. Also, Pro mode lets you choose which microphone to use with these features when recording video. You can find both of these modes by going to the More option from the bottom toolbar.

Easier to reach the shutter button

Have you ever found the perfect angle to take a picture but you can’t reach the shutter button? In the Samsung Camera app, you can move the shutter button anywhere you want. For this you have to enable the floating shutter button option. It allows you to move an extra shutter button anywhere on the phone screen as you like which is very necessary.

Shooting videos in portrait mode

Portrait mode is used for professional looking selfies or to blur the background of an object. Samsung Galaxy phones also have portrait mode for video recording. Video in portrait mode works the same as taking photos in portrait mode. It makes the subject stand out more by blurring the background. It’s not as picture perfect but works very well. You need to tap Portrait Video from the More options in the toolbar to turn on this mode.

Video Cropping

You mainly know cropping as an image editing tool, but it can also be used for video. Sometimes the original aspect ratio isn’t exactly what you want. Samsung Galaxy devices make it very easy. Cropping works great if you want to cut out a part of the video. To take advantage of this, you need to take your video into the Samsung Gallery app and tap on Crop from the Edit option there.

Scanning documents

There are many ways to scan documents with your phone. With Samsung phones, you can do this with the camera app. When you point to a document, it will automatically detect it. But in this case it should be noted that you have to take the entire document in the viewfinder and wait a little while for detection. You will then see a yellow outline around the document and a yellow button at the bottom. Tap it and you can now save this document in PDF format.

QR code scanning

You don’t need to use a separate app to scan a QR code like scanning a document. If you enable this option from the settings, you can easily scan any QR code with the camera app. This is a very simple trick but it is easy to use from the dedicated app. Samsung cameras are very feature rich. If your Samsung phone has multiple cameras then you can get the benefits of all these features.
